SEMINAR WEEK
AUTUMN SEMESTER 2024

This Seminar Week is focused on understanding and experiencing regional and regenerative methods of creating high-quality spaces and architecture using clay and other regionally sourced materials. We begin in Vorarlberg, visiting "Lehm Ton Erde" by Martin Rauch, along with other projects. Here, we'll delve into sustainable clay production, exploring how local materials and techniques can shape architectural practices. What roles do local infrastructure, craftsmanship, and communities play?

As we move back towards Switzerland midweek, we'll visit additional projects, such as the "Ofenturm" and the Ziegelei Museum by Boltshauser Architects. The highlight of our trip on Thursday and Friday will be a hands-on workshop with the team behind this project, where you'll gain practical skills in working with clay. We will join the Seminar Week of Studio Boltshauser in Brunnen, led by Felix Hilgert, to gain not only theoretical insights but also hands-on experience.

This week is an opportunity to engage deeply with the principles of regenerative practices in architecture, learning how to craft spaces that are both beautiful and environmentally responsible. Join us to explore, learn, and create.
