A New Old Centre

Altstetten suffers from the lack of a spatial centre and of social density in the quarter. A Maker Space on a newly formed square provides a spatial and social focus point, by recalling traditional local village typologies and reimagining them in a contemporary way. Elderly people and schoolchildren share knowledge by crafting, cooking and working together and so by creating an atmosphere of intergenerational exchange.
