Intercultural Housing as the No-Museum

Burak Alp Kaya
Deepthi Maria Puthenpurackal

The project is focusing on intercultural living, providing mixed housing and facilities for cultural exchange, especially for refugees. Using the Völkerkundemuseum Zürich as a case study, the project demonstrates how existing spaces can be repurposed for active community engagement and integration, offering a model for similar transformations across Europe. The poetics lies within how once undocumented people can be welcomed with the same open arms as the ethnographic museums once welcomed undocumented objects.
